Golf course is the place required for golf. A standard golf course includes 18 holes , each hole has a prescribed number of strokes, called par , the par is 72. There are tees, fairways, greens, long grass, bunkers, pools and other obstacles in the court.
The quality of the greens is not the same. Generally speaking, the best greens are well maintained. The ball can roll smoothly against the cut lawn.
Golf enthusiasts generally describe good greens as faster. You can roll a long distance on it with a light hit. In contrast, if the ball rolls a considerable distance on it, it takes a lot of effort to hit the ball. Such greens are called slow (depending on the grass type, length, and growth direction of the greens). Because of the undulations of the terrain of the green, the hitters will find it difficult.
When measuring the ball speed of the green, first select an area of 3m×3m on the green. Then place the ball in the groove of the stimp meter to determine whether the ball will roll. Then determine whether it is affected by the slope. If affected by slope, measure the uphill rolling distance (Su) and downhill rolling distance (Sd). Green speed adjusted for slope effect=2×(Su×Sd)/(Su+Sd). Generally, greens have a certain slope, but there are differences in slope size.
